TSB Joins Renee DiNino to Support Local K9 Officer Addison
Torrington Savings Bank held a Dog Days of Summer Event in collaboration with iHeart Radio’s Renee DiNino as a fundraising effort in support Torrington’s K9 Officer Addison along with handler Officer Hannah Yabrosky.
The Bank hosted an event with their employees and presented a $1,000 donation to Officer Yabrosky to offset the food and vet costs of Officer Addison.
Officer Hannah Yabrosky has been with the Torrington Police Department since 2017. In 2021, the position of a “Therapy Dog Handler” was created and Officer Yabrosky was paired with K9 Addison, an ADA Certified Service dog. Addison is a 2-year-old, male yellow Labrador Retriever who was trained and donated by the non-profit New York City based organization, Puppies Behind Bars. Addison’s role within the police department is for officer wellness, community relations, as well as victim-based services. Addison’s training allows him to specialize in comforting adults and children after critical/ traumatic incidents. According to Officer Yabrosky, “on his days off, Addison loves to swim and hike!”
Lesa Vanotti, President and CEO stated “Our team is always looking for unique ways in which we can support our community. When Renee told us about the amazing work Officer Addison was doing I our community, we jumped at the chance to help. We live in a time where his services, and that of Officer Yabrosky, are needed to ensure our first responders are taken care of emotionally and that victims have a calming presence in traumatic situations. We enjoyed our visit with Addison and look forward to staying in touch with him and Officer Yabrosky throughout their service to Torrington.”
